'Is this a comfort food?'
Ya, he answered straightforwardly, not knowing why I asked.
I asked him what he thinks about girls that like dark chocolates.
'Dark chocolate is bittersweet', he commented, 'it must stand on its own, with neither milk nor sugar to mask its taste. Likewise I believe you are a person who, whether or not by choice, begs to be known, appreciated and loved for who you are. Dark chocolate has a bold, distinct character - and so do you.'
In the midst of searching for my own identity, I sometimes find my self intertwined with dark chocolates: lying on the shelf feeling unappreciated, and constantly resisting the urge of outstanding other more popular chocolates. Loved by a few yet shunned by many, sometimes maintain the pride of being different, yet at times tried too hard to be more acceptable and to be included in the 'mainstream'.
I wonder, did i found dark chocolates, or did it found me? =)
