the Cut, the Key, the Girl

"that's for the one cut u bore 21 years ago"


that's what i told my mum when she thanked me for the meal.

My mum went through a C-section when she was laboring me. You were THAT lazy, to even make a turn. That's what she always said as i grew up :P I was the long waited one, four years after their marriage, and i've always heard about what happen in between and how the whole extend families leap for joy when i finally arrived in the family :)


Mum said Dad bought the first family camera when i was born. He first ventured into videographing when i first stepped on the stage during my primary school years for the story-telling competition. Well he never failed to take leave to be present for every competitions i took part and record it down, which kinda makes him the 'official' cameraman of my school :) Coincidently, the present that i asked for for my 21st birthday is a camera :)

21st birthdays are believed to be significant. It means that from now onwards you'll be seen as an adult. You're given the 'key' to freedom because you're old enough to take care of yourself and make your own decision in life :)

Yet sometimes i wonder, do i really want to be 'free'?

Yet sis thinks that i'm 'wild' enough that she wanted to get me a lock as present instead. Jahat.

I thought i want to appreciate my parents on this meaningful day. Heeding a friend's suggestion, i decided to give them a dinner treat. Not just for that one cut, but really, everything. Of course, it is not what a dinner can repay.

and it was a wonderful bbq steamboat buffet! :)

I thought that counts for birthday celebration but they surprised me again on the last day before i leave for kl.

Besides the awesome chocolate mint cake, we've got a sparkling juice, 'heavenly bite' ice cream, chipster, roller coaster and my favorite tau fu fa :)

She tried to pose with a 21 and was figuring which is 21 and which is 12 :P

But she got it right eventually.

My dog was there to celebrate my birthday too :)

My niece was 'taller' than me for once due to the 'chair bottom-up effect' :P

The two sisters happened to wear similar tops. Well actually she gave me the one i'm wearing. Mine says 'You can save the planet'. Hers said 'The harder u look...' not too sure what it means :P

My mum and I. We look much more alike than we thought we do :)
